Turn a place, event or product into an adventure

Epic Scape creates story-driven puzzle games that bring a new perspective to familiar places and objects. Players follow a story, explore details and solve puzzles using their own phones.

We work with you to design and build your game. Players scan a QR code to start playing in their browser. No app download or registration required.

What can a game be built around?

A place

Museum collections, a library building, the details of a church or statues in a park can all become part of a puzzle. The game encourages visitors to look closer and discover the place through a story.

An event

A game gives people something to enjoy together at a festival or other event. The story can connect different locations, introduce activities or offer a short adventure while visitors wait.

An object or product

A physical object can also be the starting point for an adventure. Its illustrations, shapes and details can hide clues that players need to move the story forward.

A phone game that gets players looking around

Epic Scape is played on a phone, but the screen does not hold every answer. Players also need to observe the place around them or the object in their hands.

The story gives them a reason to explore. The puzzles help them notice more.

You know your subject. We build the game.

You bring your expertise, ideas and goals. We take care of the story, puzzles and technical implementation.

A building, a collection, an event theme or a single product can be the starting point. Together, we find the right foundation for your game.

Our work with partners

Rikhardinkatu Library has renewed its contract three times.

More than 1,400 players played our games in 2025, with an average player rating of nearly 4 out of 5.

We had been planning an escape game for Rikhardinkatu Library ourselves for a long time, so the opportunity to try Epic Scape came at just the right moment. It was easy to design the game together to suit the library setting. Playing is straightforward and offers just the right level of challenge, which surely explains why it has attracted such a diverse and enthusiastic group of players. Höijer’s historic building is ideal for this kind of game, but customisation would certainly make it work in any space. The game offers both an enjoyable experience and a new way to explore the library.

Chris Gurney & Petteri Volkoff / Rikhardinkatu Library

Epic Scape brought new energy to our museum. Players were enthusiastic, and the game was easy to implement without additional resources. I warmly recommend it to other museums.

A game for visitors. Insights for you.

See how visitors play and progress

The reporting dashboard shows how much your game is played, how players progress and how long they spend playing. You can also see which puzzles require hints. Data updates in real time. Export reports as PDF or CSV files for your own reporting.

Add your own puzzles

Every trail includes an admin panel where your staff can add puzzles for school holidays, reading challenges or themed events. The panel also includes guidance on writing puzzles. A finished trail can stay in use for a long time. For new visitors, the story and puzzles are always new.

Pricing

You pay a one-time fee for designing and building the trail, followed by a monthly fee for the months it is active.

One custom game trail

Design and production: €1,900

Monthly fee: €149/month

We write the story and design the puzzles specifically for your location.

Two custom game trails

Design and production: €1,900 + €1,500

Combined monthly fee: €299/month

We plan both trails together, which reduces the production cost of the second trail.

What does the monthly fee include?

The monthly fee includes the game platform, maintenance, visitor data and reports, an admin panel for adding your own puzzles, and support.

Keep your trail open when you need it

  • The minimum active period is one month. Keep your trail open all year or just for part of the year.
  • For example, you can close an outdoor trail for winter and reopen it in spring. There is no monthly fee while the trail is paused, and your trail stays saved. Reopening does not incur another production fee.
  • Additional languages and commissioned puzzles are agreed separately as part of production.

Example total costs

  • One trail for a one-month event: €2,049
  • One trail for a three-month season: €2,347
  • One trail for six months: €2,794
  • One trail for a full year: €3,688
  • The same trail in the following year, 12 months: €1,788
  • Two trails for six months: €5,194

Frequently asked questions

What does the monthly fee include?

The monthly fee covers the game platform, maintenance, support and an admin panel where you can track game usage and add your own puzzles. Reports can be downloaded as PDF and CSV files.

Can we pause the trail?

Yes. You only pay the monthly fee for the months the trail is open. The minimum active period is one month. You can close a trail for winter, for example, and reopen it without an additional fee.

Does the story change?

The story written for your location stays the same, allowing new visitors to enjoy the same adventure. Your staff can add puzzles for events and themed activities. Changes to the story can be agreed separately.

Can we add our own content?

Yes. Every trail includes an admin panel where you can add your own puzzles at no extra charge. The panel also provides guidance on writing puzzles.

Is our trail saved if we stop using it?

Yes. Your trail stays saved on the Epic Scape platform while it is paused. When you reactivate it, you resume paying the monthly fee. You do not pay for design and production again.

How many players can we expect?

Player numbers depend on your visitor numbers, audience and how visible the game is. Visitors need to be able to discover it both on site and through your communications. We provide posters with QR codes and Canva templates for social media.

What data do we receive?

You can see player numbers, progress, play times, puzzle solutions and hint usage in real time. This helps you understand how visitors use the game and move through your location. Reports can be downloaded as PDF or CSV files.

How long does production take?

A game trail is usually ready in around four weeks from the first planning meeting. We agree on the schedule and launch date together.

How much staff time is needed?

Usually two meetings and time to test the game. You bring your knowledge of the location and tell us what you have in mind. We write the story, build the game and provide posters with QR codes and Canva templates for social media.
