Epic Scape: The Avant-Garde of the Gaming Industry

Art is a form that evokes emotion. The avant-garde breaks the boundaries of form. Epic Scape breaks the boundaries of the gaming industry — in three distinct ways.

In art, avant-garde refers to creators or works that experiment with and challenge existing conventions. For instance, certain forms of street and environmental art defy traditional attributes like space, convention, and aesthetics. There is also a temporal dimension: what is avant-garde today may not be so tomorrow. The avant-garde stretches the boundaries of art in both time and form.

Epic Scape represents the avant-garde of the gaming industry in three distinct ways:

1. Gaming as a Service, Not a Product

Traditionally, a game is a product acquired by purchasing, downloading, or borrowing it through platforms like the App Store, Steam, or physical retail. Epic Scape challenges this paradigm. Instead of players deciding when and where to play, they activate the game in connection with a specific location or product. Epic Scape is a gaming service where the player is a user, not a customer.

It requires no downloads, no purchases, and no registration. Epic Scape liberates the player from these constraints by offering the game as premium content through a flexible web-based implementation. It radically redefines the openness and accessibility of gaming.

2. Defined by Time and Space

Conventionally, players have significant control over where and when they play. Epic Scape anchors the game to a specific time, place, or object. Only the intersection of these elements enables the experience. For example, if Epic Scape is hosted in a library, the player must adhere to the library's opening hours.

3. Inherent Learning

When playing Epic Scape, learning is unavoidable, even if it isn't the primary goal. Learning occurs as a byproduct of the location. Epic Scape is built on puzzles that are customizable to fit the unique atmosphere of any setting. In museums or parks, the site's own art, history, and culture are utilized as integral parts of the experience.

The Revolution of Form: Beyond Conventional Boundaries

While individual elements of our model can be found elsewhere — such as a city-owned park chessboard (gaming as a service) or a pre-movie theater game limited to those in the room — Epic Scape is the only solution that synthesizes these into a transformative whole.

Epic Scape pushes the boundaries of gaming further than any solution to date. We are not just making a game; we are leading a metamorphosis of the entire industry. Epic Scape is a new medium — a gamified way to experience the world differently.
